bio
ND Chow is a native Singaporean who moved to Tokyo in 2000 to chase his dreams of being a professional portrait photographer. He worked as a photography assistant for 3 years before venturing out with his own photography company.
Before moving to Tokyo, ND travelled the world for 2 years to experience the kaleidoscope of human cultures. These 2 years have been a tremendous source of inspiration for him, and its influence is widely seen in the photos he creates. His keenly honest approach to fashion photography allows him to capture not just their beauty, but the lifestyle of his subjects through his lens.
His first photo-book was published in 2004, involving a series of portraits of Seiji Ozawa, a renowned music director who has previously conducted for the Boston Symphony Orchestra. His breadth in photography has also seen him creating album covers for many pop stars like Ayumi Hamasaki, Ayaka Hirahara, and Tohoshinki.
ND’s work is also seen in major Tokyo publications such as Men’s Non no, Popeye, Spur, Ginza, GQ Japan, Nylon Japan, Elle Japan, as well as in widely-circulated overseas magazines such as Werk and West East, just to name a few. He has also photographed for the publicity campaigns of many global brands, including Lanvin en bleu, Dove, Asahi Super Dry, Shiseido, Kose, P&G, Cathay Pacific, JAL and Panasonic.
He currently resides in Tokyo where he continues exploring new boundaries in his editorial and creative projects.
