Currently lives and works in Shangahai and Tokyo.

Born in Singapore, I relocated to Tokyo in 2000 to pursue my dream of becoming a portrait photographer. Before moving to Tokyo, I spent two years travelling around the world, discovering different cultures and, in many ways, discovering myself.

In 2004, I published my first photobook, an experience that opened the door to photographing a broad range of people from the worlds of culture, entertainment, fashion and the arts.

I believe the experiences of my formative years continue to resonate in the images I create today. My approach to portraiture is to encourage people to let down their guard, allowing something beyond the façade of public life to emerge.

For me, this is where a portrait becomes meaningful — when beauty, character and vulnerability can exist together in a single image.
